Traditional wassail is a beverage made from hot mulled cider and spices, drunk as an integral part of wassailing, an ancient Yuletide drinking and singing ritual that involved “charity” giving to ensure a good apple harvest in the following year.
Dress in your festive best and join us at the Glebe House for an indoor-outdoor holiday celebration. Gather round’ a warm fire and enjoy a hot beverage while listening to the sounds of the season. The Glebe House Museum’s Main Floor will be set for the holidays, open for celebrating and the purchase of holiday décor. Guests may partake of hors d’oeuvres and a choice of beverages including warm “spiked” Wassail, hot chocolate, apple cider, wine and sparkling water. Enjoy Yuletide caroling and the company of friends and neighbors as we celebrate the joys of the season.
