Glebe House Homeschool Day 2025

The Glebe House Museum to Host a Homeschool Day - May 20, 2025

Woodbury, CT – April 15 – The Glebe House Museum invites homeschooled children ages 6-17 to an engaging and educational Homeschool Day on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A rain date of Wednesday, May 21, 2025, has been scheduled.

This unique event offers separate, age-appropriate programs designed to immerse children in history and provide hands-on learning experiences.

Older children (12-17) will embark on a comprehensive journey through the past with a full house tour that delves into the lives of those who once resided within the Glebe House's walls. They will also participate in an archaeological dig, where they can uncover artifacts and learn about the techniques used by archaeologists. A walking tour of Hollow Road and the cemetery will provide insights into the local history and genealogy, while interactive historical stations will allow for a deeper exploration of specific aspects of life in bygone eras.

Younger children (6-11) will enjoy a range of activities tailored to their age group. Artifact exploration will spark curiosity and imagination, while a hornbook craft will offer a hands-on opportunity to create a historical learning tool. A first-floor house tour will introduce them to the Glebe House, and storytelling sessions will bring history to life. Interactive stations with quill writing and games will further enhance their understanding of the past.

The Homeschool Day provides a unique and enriching educational experience for homeschooled children. Pre-registration, with payment, is required by May 6 to secure a spot. The cost is $15 per child, and parent or guardian accompaniment is mandatory. Chaperones are free.

To register, please complete the form and mail to the Glebe House Museum, PO Box 245, Woodbury, CT 0679,8 or contact the Director at office@glebehousemuseum.org.
