Give Local 2023

Greetings Members & Friends,

Spring is in the air at the Glebe House Museum & Gertrude Jekyll Garden!

This year, the promise of restored health and vitality seems especially poignant. We greatly anticipate opening our doors to visitors of all ages on May 5th to continue our mission of providing a variety of educational, historic, and cultural experiences to the community.

Despite the challenges of these last few years, the Glebe House Museum is ready to begin its

98th year of operation!

The Glebe House Museum was rescued from demolition and opened to the public in 1925, thanks to the formation of the Seabury Society for the Preservation of the Glebe House, Inc. The 274 year-old house is an outstanding example of Georgian colonial architecture,

the preservation of which is fueled by the passion and efforts of many.

The Seabury Society operates the non-profit historic house museum and garden, relying on the generous contributions of individual donors, members, and community businesses

to fulfill its mission.

The Glebe House Museum & Gertrude Jekyll Garden receive vital support from dedicated volunteers who provide house tours and garden maintenance, as well as support for educational programs and special events.

Upcoming Highlights for 2023 Include:

-Unique summer and after school educational programs, including scholarship opportunities, for children ages 6-14.

-Virtual and in-person programs and events including First Saturday Demonstrations with the Frontier Mess (May 6), CT Gardens Book Talk and Signing w/Caryn B Davis (May 20) Annual Garden Party (June 3) , -CT Open House Day (June 10),
